June 2009

“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy.” So the song says. We all know better. It’s the time of year for baseball games, swim lessons, family reunions, road trips, vacations, and all sorts of events that cause scheduling nightmares. But fret not, music lovers. Simply talk to your instructor about your summer plans, and we will gladly arrange your lesson times to accommodate your hectic summer schedule. If you do feel the need to take a month off, simply pay in advance for your returning month and we’ll save your time slot.

Recital News

The 2009 Jonathan Fletcher Music Summer Recital will be on June 27th at Patterson Park Theater in Murfreesboro. Show times will be announced soon. If you have not yet registered, please do so soon. If you are performing in one of the bands, be sure to consult with your instructor regarding rehearsal times. If you are interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes, we encourage you to volunteer! We look forward to this year’s show, and expect it to be the best yet!

String Change Special

Have you changed those guitar strings lately? With events such as the Recital and Rock Camp coming up, it’s important to get a new set put on that guitar. Bring your instrument into the store anytime this month, buy a set of strings at our everyday low price, and we’ll put them on for you for 20% less than our usual string change fee. Be sure to mention this newsletter to receive your discount. New strings sound better, and that makes you sound better.

Rock Camp

You’ve worked hard learning your instrument. Day after day you sit alone in your room practicing the latest song you’ve learned. You’ve played the pentatonic scale so much that you hear it in your sleep. But something’s missing. You need bass. You need drums. You need a singer. You need a band.  Join our second annual Rock-n-Roll Summer Camp! There, you will be placed in a band, taught to play a number of classic rock songs, and learn the ins and outs of being in a band. When it’s all over, you and your band will go out and play a gig at Townley’s Grill right here in Smyrna.  The Camp begins on Friday, July 10th at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Just come down to the store and ask us for more details. Space will be limited, so sign up today!
