June 2010

“Schools Out For Summer” It’s time for baseball games, swim lessons, family reunions, road trips, vacations, and all sorts of events that cause scheduling nightmares. If this time of the year has you feeling like you’re riding on a “Crazy Train” talk to your instructors about your summer plans. They will gladly arrange your lesson times to accommodate your hectic summer schedule. If you do feel the need to take a month off, simply pay in advance for your returning month and we’ll save your time slot.

Recital News

The 2010 Jonathan Fletcher Music Summer Recital is on Saturday June 19th at the Patterson Park Theater in Murfreesboro. There are two shows; the first show is 1:00pm to 4:00pm and the second show is from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. If you have not yet registered, please do so soon. If you are performing in one of the bands, be sure to consult with your instructor regarding rehearsal times. If you are interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes, we encourage you to volunteer!  We look forward to this year’s show, and expect it to be the best yet!

Rock Camp

You’ve worked hard learning to play your instrument. Day after day you sit alone in your room practicing the latest song you’ve learned. You’ve played the pentatonic scale so much that you hear it in your sleep. But something’s missing. You need bass. You need drums. You need a singer. You need a band.  Join our third annual Rock-n-Roll Summer Camp! There, you will be placed in a band, taught to play a number of classic rock songs, and learn the ins and outs of being in a real Rock N Roll Band. The Rock N Roll Summer Camp is hosted by Mike Brown. It begins on June 21st and runs through July 26th. The camp meets once a week on Mondays from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Jonathan Fletcher Music. Space is limited, so sign up today!
