After making these modifications, double-clicking my vcxproj and vcproj files put them into the appropriate jump list. The default value for this key names another key which contains the actual settings for the file type. In my case, it was VCExpress. You may want to export this key as a backup before making modifications. I didn't. Change the first part of the Default value to the path of the appropriate version of VCExpress. In my case it contained the path of VSLauncher.
